The CCTC meeting series was established in 1994 primarily to bridge the gaps in our scientific and clinical knowledge of connective tissues. This annual conference has always been organized in collaboration with leading researchers in Canada working in the field of connective tissues including bone, cartilage, cardiovascular tissue, skin, and musculoskeletal tissue in health and disease states. In recent years the CCTCs kept up pace with cutting edge technologies, developing fields and integrated interdisciplinary themes involving stem cells, biomaterials, tissue regeneration, and biomedical engineering.
The credo of the CCTC has always been to encourage and motivate the next generation of young Canadian scientists by giving them the opportunity to present their research as well as to interact with leading Canadian and international researchers in this field. To reinforce this mission, we are teaming up this year with the First Young Investigators Forum organized by the Institute of Musculoskeletal Health and Arthritis (IMHA) of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR): http://www.yi2012.ca/. This meeting will be held in Toronto from June 10-11 and we hope that our young scientists will participate in both events.
The CCTC 2012 will consist of three days of keynotes, oral presentations of senior scientist and selected from abstracts, as well as poster sessions, all aimed at promoting interchange among members of the various councils in attendance. Our conference will bring together around 150 researchers and trainees from across Canada. We have invited top speakers from around the world to lecture at this event. We do sincerely hope you will consider participating in this conference, and we will meet you in summer 2012 in Toronto!
Sincerely
Boris Hinz
